During registration, users are guided through a streamlined digital process. After selecting their role, they are prompted to verify their identity using a secure mobile-based application. This typically involves scanning a government-issued ID and completing a facial verification step, such as taking a selfie.

Once verified, users are redirected back to the Clearinghouse platform to finalize registration. Importantly, the system automatically extracts personal identification details directly from the submitted document, preventing manual edits and reducing the risk of inaccurate or manipulated data entries.

While the system currently supports identification documents from the United States, Canada, and Mexico with certain limitations it is expected that capabilities may expand as the system evolves.

For users who experience difficulties with the digital process, alternative options are available, including access to in person identity verification centers and assistance through dedicated FMCSA support channels.
